Assemblyman Tom O’Mara Tours Anchor Glass in Elmira Heights

Assemblyman Tom O’Mara (R,I,C-Big Flats) recently toured Anchor Glass in Elmira Heights with Richard Kessel, President and Chief Executive Officer of the New York Power Authority.  Anchor Glass is a leading manufacturer of glass containers for the food and beverage industry and consumer product industries.  Anchor Glass currently employs nearly 350 high- paying manufacturing positions. 

The tour was arranged to provide Mr. Kessel with a first-hand look on how the company and the region has benefited from the state’s Power for Jobs program, which supplies competitively-priced power to keep and create jobs in the Empire State.

Assemblyman O’Mara has been a strong advocate of the Power for Jobs program and is working to make the program permanent to provide businesses with better and long-term energy planning to help save current jobs and attract new employers to the region.
