O’MARA: NO RELIEF COMING FOR SOUTHERN TIER HOMEOWNERS IN 30 DAY AMENDMENTS

            Assemblyman Tom O’Mara (R,I,C-Big Flats) today criticized Governor Paterson for not including legislation that would cap property taxes and reduce unfunded state mandates for local governments and school districts in his 30-day amendments to the executive budget.

            “I am disappointed that the governor failed to make capping property taxes and unfunded mandate relief a top priority in his executive budget.  This failure of action illustrates that the governor is more concerned with protecting Albany’s special interest groups than doing what is best for Southern Tier homeowners, school districts, and local governments.  Clearly, the governor’s priorities are out-of-touch with the needs of the citizens he represents,” said O’Mara.
